This past weekend, Addison and I went with my parents and Kane to Monroe, LA for my mom's side family reunion. We went in my dad's truck, but mom sat in the back with the kiddos and I finished the last book in the Twilight series! Addison and Kane did really well on the 3 1/2 hour trip! We stopped in Prescott to leave my car at Grant's grandparents house and didn't stop again until we got to the Hotel!

Day in the Life of a 3 year old!
On Addison's Birthday, I took off work so I could spend the day with her. She decided she wanted to go to Magic Springs to celebrate. Anna and Kane met us there, and we had a blast. I thought I would share what you are up to my big girl now that you are 3! You love to have your picture made. We took this before we left for Magic Springs. You can dress and undress yourself with occasional help. You are doing a pretty good job putting your shoes on right, but still need reminders! You definitely have an opinion on what you wear. You prefer dresses that twirl!
You love being with your family. You adore Kane! He is so good with you, but has to be reminded that I am your mommy and he doesn't have to watch your every move! You have enjoyed having your grandmothers here with you each week, and will miss that time with them I'm sure! You like to talk to your family on the phone and you can really tell them about your day now! You took swimming lessons this summer, and now you love to swim! You like to go under the water, will stay longer than I want you to sometimes! You love the slides at Magic Springs, and love to go night-night in the water (floating on your back)!

Mermaid Birthday Party!
Since it was going to be hot, we had the children wear their swimsuits and we had a slip-n-slide, water table, fishing game in large container of water, and a sprinkler to help keep them cool. There was also a starfish ring toss, sandbox, and the playground (as Addison calls her swing set) to keep them busy as well. We stayed outside about an hour then came inside. Some of the children changed clothes. We then had sugar cookies for them to decorate. Addison and I had made the cookies and then my mother-in-law iced them for us. There were seahorses, seashells, fish, and starfish shaped cookies. I think the kiddos really enjoyed this! We then cut the cake and sang happy birthday. We had hot dogs, goldfish crackers, cheese cubes, blueberries, chips, strawberries, and some dips. I had managed to misplace my camera so I didn't get a picture of the food. (these picts are from my MIL) I wish I had b/c I had really cute serving pieces: crab plate, seashell bowl, etc. For party favors, we gave a pair of sunglasses, a Mermaid stencil, and a fish ring pop wrapped in a blue cellophane bag placed inside a sand pail with a shovel.
The cake table!
The cake! Addison said the cake was her favorite part of the party! My friend Bethany made the cake and did an awesome job!

D-D-D DORA
Last Wednesday, July 8th, I took off work and Addison and I went to see Dora! She was very excited about seeing her!
After Dora, we went to her her Kids Day Out class and had a Dora Birthday party! This is the last time she will be with these children, because she is starting the daycare at the church after her birthday. She is really going to miss Ms. Amanda and Ms. Ellie. She will also miss Ms. Janice who watched her before and after KDO and at her house 1-2 days a week.

The Latest Stories
Things have been pretty busy around here...appointments, road trips, laying sod, and planning the big 3rd birthday party. I wanted to document some of the things Addison has said here lately. I love going back and reading these...
Mommy, God gave me to you.
Me: Yes he did!
Not when you and daddy marry?
Me: No, God hadn't made you yet.
He put me in the anger (manger) for you?
Loved it!
Addison was really pushing it the last time my Mom was here. She was sitting on the back of her booster seat, and Mom told her to get down and sit in her seat. Addison said ... "NO". I went over to her and explained that we do not talk to Nana that way, blah blah blah. I then said, "Let's try that again." I had her sit back on the seat and go through the conversation again. After one more "no" she realized in was in her best interest to comply! Mom later told me that when she finished giving Addison her bath that night, she told Addison it was time to get out. Addison said "NO" and then looked at mom and said "let's try that again!"
Today after putting on a dress she said, "I don't want to wear this dress! It doesn't twirl big!"
At a wedding shower last weekend, Mom was having Addison do some of her "tricks" She was having Addison tell everyone when her birthday was and how old she was going to be. She is really into this and loves saying her birthday. I think this went on with several people until Mom said, "Addison, tell them when you will be 3." Addison looked at her and said "ON MY BIRTHDAY!"

Happy Anniversary! It's been nine years!
On June 3rd, Grant and I celebrated our 9th anniversary! I can't believe it has been that long. I thought I would share a little about our wedding day! Here we are! The happy couple. We had all our pictures made b/f hand. So far, it hasn't jinxed us! HA! Grant was very late, but I never worried. He was sure about getting married even if he was 19! Yes, that is right! Grant was 19 and I had just turned 21. The honeymoon had to be booked in my name b/c of our ages! He turned 20 in July though. So the day didn't go perfect... The photographer had to help me into my dress. I had a slight panic attack b/f walking down the aisle b/c I didn't want all those people looking at me! It rained on my wedding day. My train fell into a mud puddle upon arriving at the reception. We or I guess I, left our plane tickets, cruise information, etc. in a bag at my mom and dad's house. My in laws had to (very kindly offered) bring us our documents in the middle of the night. Yes, who plans on seeing your new in laws in the middle of your wedding night??!! But you know what?? We were married despite everything else, and I can honestly say nine years later I am so glad we were! I love you honey!
So please participate...even those of you who don't usually comment! (It is not hard to set up a google account and you won't be signing up for any thing else!! ) What do you remember about your wedding day? Did anything go wrong or was everything perfect? HA! How long have you been married! I am hoping some of my family who read this will participate...you know who you are!!!

Magic Springs
Last year, I bought a season pass to Magic Springs. We had just gotten back from Sea World and Addison had loved riding the rides. We got to Magic Springs just to find out she wasn't tall enough to ride...not even the train! I was not very happy, but we went and enjoyed the water park area. This year, I knew she was tall enough, and I knew she would enjoy it. Last Sunday, Addison and I met Mom, Anna, and Kane there. Anna had a free pass so Mom was able to go and see Addison and Kane play. We wore our swimsuits, but Anna didn't realize the water park was open. We got there before they did, so we played in the water some. Here are some picts... The four of us!
