Baby Showers!

Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life Fridays with this week being Baby Showers! I have enjoyed looking at all the links and can't wait to host a baby shower in a few months for a very good friend, and attend one for someone else that is very special to me! I thought I would take a trip down memory lane and post some picts of our baby showers. I was fortunate to have 4 showers- graduate school girls, work, good friend Jamie, and hometown church shower!

I had to include this pict of what soon to be daddies get to do after the baby showers while huge, uncomfortable soon to be mommies pretend (or really think) they know how to put everything together better, although they can't get in the floor to help!

This was the table at the shower thrown by the girl's I went to graduate school with. Everything was yummy. It is always so nice to see these girls and catch up!

Jondalyn, Lori, me holding Jondalyn's baby, and Allison with her baby!

Cake at the work shower!

This was the table at the work shower. I thought it looked really cute! The shower was a joint shower for Holly and me. They did a great job using neutral colors. I was having Addison, Holly was having Noah! We were three weeks apart during our pregnancies and then both our babies were born 3 weeks early!

Looks like I'm 3 months ahead instead of 3 weeks-HA! Holly and I developed a really strong friendship through our pregnancies. Don't think either one of us could have survived without the other! It's been so nice to have someone to share things with! 3 years later and Holly with a second baby, we still depend on each other!

This is Jamie and me at the shower she threw for me. I loved the dress I am wearing! I only wore it 2x though since someone decided to come early!

Jamie can set up a spread! The table was beautiful and went along with the chocolate and pink theme for the nursery, even the brown bear that we kinda incorporated into the nursery (brown bear rug). Everything was delicious, and I was so appreciative of her having the shower!

I don't have any digital picts of the church shower table or gifts, and I'm too lazy to go scan them! Here is my two wonderful grandmothers and me!
This was fun! Hope you enjoy!

Hurt Feelings

Well, today was the 1st day of school for many. I talked to several of my coworkers today that were worried about their little one's day. I didn't know I should worry about my baby! Addison started a new school about a month OK. Well, actually it is about 4 doors down from her MDO class, but this is considered day care and she can go 4-5 days a week. She seems happy now, but has needed time to adjust. Today she broke our heart. She told her daddy when he picked her up, and me when I got home...

"Girl A, Girl B, and Girl C made me cry today. They wouldn't let me play with them. They said I was too young."

What???!!! She is 3. Little girls aren't suppose to be like that. Oh wait! Yes they are. I can't stand the thought of her having her feelings hurt. I don't like not being able to fix it. Of course, she was done talking about it, and I am still worrying about it. I know she will be fine, and we talked about her other friends. She will be fine, won't she? I am reminded daily of just how much I love her, and how much I hurt when she hurts. This kind of love is just indescribable!

As I end this, I just want to say how proud I am of someone else that I love a lot. This mother is going through something terrible, but is able to hold her head high because of the type of person she is. She doesn't want her son to hurt. She will do everything she can to make sure this situation is as painless as it can be for her child! Even putting her feelings aside. I am so proud of you, and he will thank you some day for how you are handling this. You are amazing! God knows the situation, so lift them up!

Branson Trip

This weekend we went to Branson and stayed with Grant's parents at the Hilton Convention Center Hotel. This was a last minute trip, but we had a lot of fun! Branson has really changed from when I use to go with my grandparents years ago. Grant and I have gone several times since we've been married to shop! Now that they have Branson Landing it is even nicer to go there.

Some of these picts are looking funky on here! Sorry-don't know what happened!

On Friday when we got there, Grant, Addison, and I hung out at Branson Landon and did some shopping. Gaywyn and Gary had a dinner to go to but first they went with us to the Bass Pro Shop to see the huge aquarium. G Dad then gave Addison some money so shopping we went!

There is a fire and water show every hour on the hour that was fun to watch! We ate Mexican food and sat outside on the patio. The weather was perfect.

On Saturday morning, Gary had to go to meetings, but Gaywyn, Grant, Addison and I went and rode on the Branson Scenic Railroad.

On Friday we found a pirate ship play area. Addison had fun playing here and so we went back on Saturday night.

We did a lot of shopping on Friday, but then on Saturday, Addison, Gaywyn and Gary napped while Grant and I went to the outlet mall. I bought some jeans (yay!) and grant got some shirts. I then had to buy Addison a couple of more outfits.

Some of the new clothes. Grammy bought the purple and navy outfit for Addison. We tried to get comfy pieces for school. I was really pleased with our purchases. Addison is set- please help remind me I said this. She does not need any more clothes! The light blue outfit is from Strasburg. I love their stuff, but Grant says it looks like something they would wear on Little House on the Prairie. I found this outfit and just thought it was too sweet. She will be able to wear it next year, too!
We had a fun trip but it is always nice to come home.

And when we got home, I was reminded why 3-year olds still need mommy to dress them...

Styling!

Life's Best Moments

I came home from Wal-Mart today and found this...

Grant was craving something sweet on Friday night. He had to run to Best Buy and then he picked up this...

Addison picked out a pink bear, then wanted the Mermaid outfit. Carla the Mermaid looks like this...

On Thursday morning we looked out our window and saw this...
10 bucks!

It is the little things in life that make it all worth it!

You Be the Puppy...

and I will be the Mommy. Now get down and walk like this. Not like a Mommy, like a puppy! Get down puppy!

Oh the games we play! Thank goodness we have no neighbors to catch us in action, a rug in the living room to protect my knees, and a vivid imagination- I guess! HA!!

Birthday Parties!

We have had several parties this summer! Addison really enjoys birthday parties now and will "bake" cakes at home and sing Happy Birthday to various people. This past Saturday was Noah's birthday party. Holly and I were 3 weeks apart in our pregnancies and our babies were born 3 weeks apart, both early. It has been wonderful to have Holly to talk to and share things with, and of course worry with! Everyone needs a friend that you can share your craziness with! Noah's party was at the Jump!Zone. We had a blast!

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated Gracie's birthday at Pink Bliss. This was so up Addison's alley!

Gracie is the one next to Addison

Makeup, glitter, feathers, tu-tus, necklaces...it just doesn't get any better!
